Shiv joined Water Technology in 2019 upon completing her PhD in water engineering specializing in integrated urban water systems and water sensitive urban design from the University of South Australia in Adelaide. Shiv’s PhD was an extension of her work with the CSIRO under the Urban Water Security Research Alliance (UWSRA), which was formed to address South-East Queensland’s emerging urban water issues with a focus on water security and recycling.

Prior to Water Technology, Shiv’s main area of interest was in the water-energy-carbon nexus of urban water systems. In her recent work, Shiv has been actively involved in integrated catchment management projects with a focus on wetlands design, restoration and rehabilitation as an approach to stormwater management, flood mitigation and improvement of water quality in urban waterways.
