Gayani is a Senior Engineer in Integrated Stormwater Management team with extensive combined research and industry experience in water sensitive urban design (WSUD). She is passionate about investigating innovative and WSUD/Integrated Water Management (IWM) solutions that deliver multiple benefits to the environment as well as to the community.  

Gayani developed a strong track record in urban stormwater management through her involvement in CRC for Water Sensitive Cities as a PhD candidate. Since transitioning to the industry in 2016, she has demonstrated the ability to translate research knowledge into practice.

Her excellent analytical thinking skills developed through research career and ability to see the ‘big picture’ approach have been highly valuable in IWM/WSUD projects which often involve multiple aspects of the water cycle, numerous stakeholders and conflicting ideas and benefits
