Delivering WSUD Workshops
Members of the Parramatta River Catchment Group (PRCG) are continuing a deep dive into Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) compliance through a series of WSUD Uplift workshops. Officers from engineering, planning, and compliance are working together to better understand stormwater controls in private development and to improve cross-department collaboration.
A 2022 audit by the PRCG and Wave Consulting Australia revealed that only 20% of private onsite detention and stormwater assets were being maintained – often due to poor installation or owners’ unawareness of their existence.
Delivered with E2Designlab – a Water Technology company and Orion Group, and building on Blacktown City Council’s WSUD compliance program, this work will inform practical technical resources for staff, certifiers, and homeowners on installing, operating, and maintaining WSUD assets.
Workshops and small sessions are continuing, with the aim of establishing a set of consistent resources and capabilities, and to build materials from the WSUD Maintenance Compliance Framework.
