Streaky Bay, on the far west coast of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia, is a township which supports approximately 2,000 residents and surrounding rural communities. Streaky Bay’s climate is semi-arid to arid, therefore, water is a precious resource. The area also has many significant environmental features including salt marshes and the bay itself.
The District Council of Streaky Bay has a vision to have a healthy natural environment but also to provide infrastructure that meets community and economic needs, while recognising the impacts of a changing climate.
A Stormwater Management Plan was completed in 2011, however, the Council recognised that the with the changing landscape, community priorities and planned future development, that it was timely for a review and update of the Stormwater Management Plan.
