A successful forum on the Gippsland Lakes intended to educate, inspire and empower stakeholders and the broader community was held last week. WT Managing Director, Dr Andrew McCowan presented to the Forum on the critical topic of hydrodynamics and salinity, a key driver of the health of the lakes. This presentation fitted within a themed session on the science of the lakes and complemented other presentations on the unique Lakes Dolphin, seagrass, fish, birds and algal blooms.
The Forum was convened by the Gippsland Lakes Ministerial Advisory Committee, a body tasked with the preservation and enhancement of the social and environmental values of the Lakes. These presentations will be made available shortly on the Love Our Lakes Website, http://www.loveourlakes.net.au/.
