Water Technology recently held an inception meeting for the Bridgewater Flood Study with North Central Catchment Management Authority, Loddon Shire Council, other agency representatives and members of the Bridgewater community. Bridgewater was hard hit during the January 2011 floods, with many residential, commercial and rural properties impacted. In the first couple of weeks after the awarding of the project, Water Technology has already identified some key floodplain issues that have resulted in a better understanding of flooding in this complex anabranching floodplain.

Water Technology will be working closely with the Project Steering Committee and Bridgewater community over the coming months to better understand and communicate the flood risk and develop feasible mitigation options to reduce the risk.
